Psilocybin mushrooms found

Cynamin Reed, 26, of Grand Junction is suspected of growing psilocybin mushrooms in her apartment, according to the Grand Junction Police Department.

Reed was arrested May 5 on suspicion of drug possession with intent to distribute, drug possession and having a deadly weapon in reach during the incident.

Officers with the Grand Junction Police Department responded to Entrada Apartments, 416 Independent Ave., to reports of people fighting just after midnight.

While conducting a safety sweep of the apartment, an officer opened a closet and found a container of mature psilocybin mushrooms and five other containers of growing psilocybin mushrooms.

Officers obtained a search warrant at 6 a.m. and found over a pound of psilocybin mushrooms and a handgun.

Reed was ordered two $5,000 cash-only bonds in Mesa County Court this week.

According to the Mesa County Sheriff's Office:

■ Phillip Huey was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of drug possession and three arrest warrants in the 100 block of Barcelona Way.

■ Two juveniles were cited on suspicion of minor in possession of ethyl alcohol Thursday at Central High School.

■ Harassment was reported Thursday in the 300 block of E Road.

■ A sex offense was reported Thursday in the 2900 block of Globe Willow Avenue.

■ Deputies investigated a burglary Monday in the 400 block of 30 Road.
