Drugs found in traffic stop
Andres Gonzalez-Sierra, 22, is accused of distribution and importation charges after being pulled over by local law enforcement on Sept. 4.
An officer was crossing the center median of Interstate 70 near mile post 9 when he saw a vehicle in the left lane that wasn't passing other cars.
The officer got behind the vehicle and found that its license plate had expired in August, according to an arrest affidavit.
The driver, Gonzalez-Sierra, was pulled over near mile post 10. His license came back as suspended, the affidavit said.
The officer asked to conduct a search of the vehicle and the driver agreed.
Police found a fire extinguisher in a duffle bag in the vehicle that was later found to be stuffed with more than two pounds of heroin, the affidavit said.
Gonzalez-Sierra was given a $25,000 bond last week.
