Meth found in traffic stop
Bruce Lombardo, 52, is accused of DUI, drug possession and distribution charges and received a $10,000 cash or surety bond on Friday.
Lombardo was stopped on Thursday just before midnight for having stolen plates on his vehicle, according to the arrest affidavit.
A Colorado State Patrol trooper noticed what appeared to be a baggie of methamphetamine on the passenger seat, the affidavit said.
Lombardo’s driving privilege was reportedly revoked as a habitual offender with 17 active cases.
Methamphetamine was found in his possession and Lombardo was charged with a DUI after completing a voluntary roadside sobriety test.
n Ja’el Childress, 27, is accused of weaving and drug importation and distribution charges and received a $50,000 cash or surety bond on Friday.
A vehicle Childress was driving eastbound on Interstate 70 on Thursday appeared like it was going to take the exit to Fruita but drove back to the travel lane, crossing over the shoulder and hitting the rumble strip, according to the arrest affidavit.
A Mesa County Sheriff’s Office deputy pulled him over for weaving.
A canine sniff search of the vehicle indicated drugs were inside and a distribution level of methamphetamine was found, the affidavit said.
n Jacob Rubalcaba, 23, is accused of drug and weapon possession charges and received a $10,000 cash-only bond on Friday.
Rubalcaba was pulled over on Thursday for having a suspended driver’s license and a firearm and drugs were found in the vehicle, according to the arrest affidavit.
