Cops seek sign thieves

Grand Junction police are looking for two suspects accused of stealing "Wet Floor" signs from an area gas station.

Around 4 p.m. Aug. 29, officers responded to a theft at the Bradley Sinclair gas station at 2498 Patterson Road. The men were recorded on security cameras and were wearing bright fluorescent yellow shirts and took two signs that are the shape of bananas. The signs are valued at less than $300. The suspects left in a green or blue hatchback.

According to the Grand Junction Police Department:

■ Peter Hild, 57, is accused of stealing over $200 worth of merchandise on Sept. 2.

■ Richard Peterson, 32, is accused of attempted robbery and theft on Tuesday.
