Fires damage property in separate calls
The Grand Junction Fire Department responded to a pair of afternoon fires on Thursday, one of which damaged a camper, storage shed and some nearby vehicles.
Shortly after 4 p.m., crews put out a fire on the 2600 block of Patterson Road that did not reach any homes, though a power pole was burned, according to a press release.
At nearly the same time, crews also responded to a camper fire on the 200 block of 29 Road. That fire spread to a storage shed, which was a complete loss, and damaged a fence and several vehicles. No injuries were reported in either burn and a Red Flag warning is in effect through 8 tonight warning of increased fire risk.
