Snow removal delays bike season on mesa
Mountain bikers looking for downhill fun at Powderhorn Mountain Resort will have to wait a little longer.
Even though the ski and snowboard season came to an end at Powderhorn more than two months ago, the spring snowmelt is still going on.
With more than 300 inches of snow this season, it made for a great winter at the resort, but now, the summer mountain bike season has been postponed.
Powderhorn trail crews are working to remove snow, manage excessive runoff and prepare the bike trails for the summer season.
The bike park will open as soon as the trails are rideable.
