Spay, neuter vouchers for pet owners
Mesa County Animal Services is partnering with area veterinarians to offer spay and neuter vouchers for Mesa County pet owners.
The cost of the procedure with a voucher will be $25. The Animal Assistance Foundation has provided funding for more than 385 sterilization procedures, and local veterinarians have agreed to offer the procedures to Mesa County citizens at a reduced rate.
Pet owners must provide proof of current rabies vaccination at the time of the procedure. If the animal does not have a current rabies vaccination, the owner will be required to pay for that service. Cost of the rabies vaccination is not covered by the $25 co-pay.
A limited number of vouchers are available and are intended to help people with financial need. Vouchers will be given out on a first-come, first served basis and are valid through Sept. 30.
