Suggest a name for new Fruita school
School District 51 is taking suggestions to name the new elementary school in Fruita.
Students, parents, community members and district staff may submit suggestions for the new school at www.surveymonkey.com/r/fruitaschoolsurvey until 4 p.m. on Aug. 19.
Suggestions will be narrowed down to 10 finalists by a naming committee, and a second survey with the 10 finalists will be published later this month.
The results of that survey will be sent to the Board of Education for consideration. The school's new name will be announced at a groundbreaking ceremony, 4:30 p.m. Sept. 17, at the new site near K 4/10 Road and 18 1/2 Road.
