CrossFit Juke Joint has a new home on South Seventh Street after nearly three years near 29 and Patterson roads.

Owner and trainer Sung Hong moved the business to 1010 S. Seventh St. in April and held a grand opening on June 1. Hong said his lease was up at 2913 F Road, Unit 103 and he found a good location, which he was able to buy.

Classes run between 5:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., all taught by Hong, but those are subject to change. To celebrate the new location, he is offering two-week trials for $9. After the trial, guests who wish to continue can sign up for month-to-month, six-month or yearly memberships.

Hong began teaching CrossFit in 2016, when he first opened his business and began training in 2013.

Prior to that, he taught Taekwondo for 13 years. He holds black belts in Taekwondo, Judo and Kung Fu.

He said he was hooked on CrossFit after first trying it six years ago. He particularly enjoys the sense of accomplishment after each workout.

"I quit my job and traveled around the country to find the right place to open my gym," he said.

Hong referred to the workout area as a community space more than a classroom space. While students workout together, they go at different intensities, he said.
