The glamorous Gateway Canyons Ranches and Resort is listed for sale and it can be yours for a cool $279 million.

LIV Sotheby's listed the property — roughly 50 miles southwest of Grand Junction — Friday. It is the most expensive listing on its website, $19 million more than Molokai Ranch, a 55,500-acre site in Hawaii.

Gateway Canyons is owned by Discovery Channel founder and former Discovery Communications Chairman John Hendricks. In addition to the stunning vista, the resort offers a variety of opportunities, including horseback riding, spa services and fine dining across 8,700 acres in Unaweep Canyon. Hendricks first bought the land in the 1990s.

Kerry Endsley is the listing agent for LIV Sotheby's and the property, at 40275 Highway 141 in Gateway, which is described as "one of the world's most stunning landscapes."

"The offering includes a full-service resort, in addition to West Creek Ranch – featuring an extraordinary residence and four unique parcels of land, all creating this unique destination where humanity can pause and contemplate its relationship with nature," the listing states.

The sale includes the resort and spa and the West Creek Ranch residences. The ranch includes a 22,000 square-foot living space and 3,500 square feet of covered verandas. The residence has eight bedrooms and eight bathrooms on four levels with an elevator serving all floors. There is also a great room, dining room, chef's kitchen, art studio, theater room, gym, pool and spa, four water fountains, six fireplaces, a two-story stone library and much more. The surrounding parcels include "a collection of some of the most enduring and treasured natural geological wonders in the canyonlands of the American West, which, surrounded by natural open space, will be preserved for years to come," according to the listing.

The resort and spa has 72 rooms for house guests from around the world who come to the Uncompahgre Plateau. It also features dining, outfitting, educational programs, outdoor activities and the Gateway Colorado Auto Museum, according to the listing. To see the listing, visit livsothebysrealty.com.
