He was a teacher, artist and conservationist.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie; two sons, Don Sparks of Grand Junction and Michael Kazmierczak of Claremore, Oklahoma; three daughters, Ronda Guinn, Jalyn Van Conett and Michelle LaMar, all of Grand Junction; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was an inspector general for the state of Colorado.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Lee; two sons, David Edwin of Montrose and John Steven of Crawford; two daughters, Carrie Renee Nichols of Colorado Springs and Robyn Lynn Demny of Thornton; and seven grandchildren.
