Delta County Memorial Hospital has a new interim CEO.
The hospital's Board of Directors announced late Monday that Robert Thorn would become interim CEO, effective Nov. 18. He will serve until a permanent CEO is found.
The board is in the process of forming a stakeholder committee to identify a new CEO candidate.
The board had voted Oct. 25 not to renew the contract of CEO Jason Cleckler. Cleckler left the hospital that day and had served as CEO for more than a decade.
Thorn has 25 years of experience in executive leadership, rural hospital administration and medical practice operations. He is the current principal at Summit Healthcare Strategies.
"The Board is confident that Mr. Thorn will serve Delta County Memorial Hospital and its stakeholders well during this interim period," board chairman David Lane said in a press release.
