The Grand Junction Regional Airport Authority Board of Commissioners is looking to fill its open at-large position and interviewed candidates for the post during a board meeting Wednesday.
The candidates include Eric Carlson, the executive director of the West Slope Oil and Gas Association, Larry Kempton III, an engineer with a background in the construction and aviation industries, Stan Kiser, a retired commercial construction project manager, community activist Anne Landman, Linde Marshall, a small business owner with a background in public relations, Greg Olson, founder of design and marketing firm GROWL Agency, and local entrepreneur Bryan Wachs.
Six of the candidates answered questions from the board during the meeting. Marshall was unable to attend and submitted her answers in writing.
The board will select one finalist at its next meeting Tuesday and that person will have to be confirmed by the Mesa County Commissioners and Grand Junction City Council. The new board member will serve the remaining two years of Chuck McDaniel's four-year term. McDaniel moved from the at-large position to the City Council representative on the board after he was elected to the Council earlier this year. Previous Council representative Rick Taggart left the board at that time.
