A 32-year-old woman remains hospitalized in critical condition after being struck by a Jeep while walking near Grand Junction High School this weekend. Danielle Nicola was crossing North Fifth Street on foot south of Kennedy Avenue at about 9:30 p.m. Friday when she was struck by a woman driving north on Fifth Street, according to earlier reports.
Nicola, who was identified by police Monday, was transported to St. Mary's Medical Center with injuries then believed to be life-threatening. As of Monday afternoon, she was in critical condition, according to the hospital.
No arrests have been made in connection with the collision. Grand Junction police spokeswoman Heidi Davidson said a report has not been completed in connection with the incident.
