The Grand Junction Police Department has identified 24-year-old Emilio Cordova as the person who was shot by Mesa County Sheriff’s deputies last Tuesday on North Avenue.

Cordova survived the shooting and is being held at the Mesa County Jail. The shooting is being investigated by the Critical Incident Response Team, which is responsible for investigating uses of force by officers and is made up of local law enforcement agencies and the Mesa County District Attorney’s Office. The Grand Junction Police Department is leading the investigation.
