GlenX Career Expo set
Garfield Re-2 School District will host the GlenX Career Expo on Tuesday at the Garfield County Fairgrounds in Rifle, featuring a "college/career" path focus.
The event began three years ago with around 45 local businesses at Rifle High School, and just students from Coal Ridge and Rifle high schools attending.
"This year, it has grown so big that it has to be held at the Garfield County Fairgrounds and we are expecting students from all of our local high schools including Rifle, Coal Ridge, Grand Valley, De Beque and Meeker — about 1,500 kids in all," a news release said.
About 100 local businesses will be represented at the expo this year to talk to the students.
There will be live demonstrations including Columbine Ford working with students using the automotive diagnostic computers, a welding station, and a food truck to show students that they don't need a brick-and-mortar environment to be an entrepreneur.
