Hopeful big-game hunters should know by now whether or not they drew their most desired license in Colorado Parks and Wildlife's annual limited licenses draw.

The United States Department of Interior presented a check for $29 million to the Colorado Parks and Wildlife on March 20 stating that the funding is "critical to CPW's efforts for wildlife conservation, research, habitat preservation" as well as for supporting hunting and fishing programs.

It's late afternoon in mid-November and a hunter looks hopefully at the deer head and attached hide he's brought to taxidermist Darry Powell's shop on Orchard Mesa in Grand Junction.
