GJ takes third straight over Orem
One day after a 1-0 game that went to Grand Junction, both the Rockies and Orem continued to struggle at the plate for the first four innings in Orem, Utah, on Sunday.
When the fifth came around, Grand Junction found its footing.
Eddy Diaz and Christopher Navarro each hit RBI singles in the fifth to give the Rockies a 3-0 lead, sparking them to a 6-3 victory over the Owlz.
Grand Junction is two games over .500 at 12-10.
Orem (7-15) scored two in the sixth to cut the deficit, but Yolki Pena scored on an error in the seventh and Owen Taylor's sac fly plated Christian Koss in the eighth to stretch the lead back out.
Cayden Hatcher earned his second win of the season.
