2019 Lands End Hill Climbing comes to a close on the Mesa

The finals of the Lands End Hill Climb took place on the Grand Mesa on Sunday.

The sportsman race went to Jimmy Ford, the rally 2WD race went to Zach Lumsden, the motorcycle race went to Travis Newbold of Fruita, the rally lite race went to Kinnan Blake and the rally turbo race went to Dave and Allison Kern.

Kenny Brady won the championship race. Tyler Portillo won the pro quad race, Dennis Durmas won the UTV race, Mark Smith won the super sprint and Jimmy Olson took the truck race.

The open comp race went to Spencer Steele, who also won the exhibition race. The super stock truck race was won by Chris Curtis and the stock car race was won by Grand Junction's Mike Magee.

GJ Rockies game postponed

The Grand Junction Rockies's game at Great Falls on Sunday was canceled because of inclement weather and wet grounds.

The Rockies return to action today at Billings at 6:35 p.m.
