Colorado Mesa wrestlers won six weight classes Sunday morning in the first Maverick Open women's tournament at Brownson Arena.
Jennesis Martinez won all three of her matches in the 101-pound round-robin bracket by pin and Anja Tschohi recorded a pair of technical falls to win the 116-pound weight class, which was also a round robin.
Marissa Gallegos also dominated her three opponents to win the 123-pound class, all by technical fall.
Sierra Brown Ton's pin of teammate Cindy Zepeda in the third round at 130 pounds earned her the championship. Zepeda was second, going 2-1 with a pair of technical falls.
The 136-pound field had a full bracket, with Dalia Garibay winning three matches by technical fall, including the title bout against Martina Banuelos-Valdez of Life Pacific College (California), who had pinned her first two opponents.
Kaylee Lacy came back through the consolation bracket to place third, pinning Fatima Avalos of Life Pacific in the third-place match.
Alma Mendoza was first and Natalie Benavides second at 143 pounds.
The Mavericks are off until Dec. 13, when they travel to Fort Worth, Texas for the USA Open and Olympic Team Trials qualifying tournament.
