The Colorado High School Activities Association released its preseason rankings for all classifications of football in the state Monday. CHSAA compiles its rankings through votes by coaches across the state.

In Class 4A, Montrose will enter the season ranked

No. 5 and Fruita Monument will be ranked 10th. Central received nine top 10 votes and Grand Junction received two.

Following an appearance in the 3A semifinal last year, Palisade enters this season as one of the favorites in the classification at No. 3. The Bulldogs received three

No. 1 votes.

In 2A, Rifle and Delta enter the season ranked No. 5 and No. 7, respectively. Delta received a No. 1 vote.

Meeker is tied for sixth in the 1A rankings. Paonia missed out by two spots, receiving 16 votes for the top 10.
