After running roughshod over the Class 4A Western Slope League, the Palisade High School baseball team will host the Region 4 tournament Saturday.

The Bulldogs (16-7, 12-0 WSL) outscored their league opponents 147-25 and are the No. 2 seed in Quadrant B.

Palisade hosts Durango at 10 a.m. with Fort Morgan at Pueblo County playing at 12:30 p.m. The winners will play at 3 p.m. with that winner advancing to the 4A state tournament.

The Class 5A regional tournament brackets were also released Wednesday, and both Grand Junction and Fruita Monument are in the field.

Both will be on the road, with the Tigers (14-9, 4-4 Southwestern League) facing Legacy at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at Douglas County High School and the Wildcats (11-9, 6-2 SWL) playing Rocky Mountain at Legend.

In Class 3A, Delta is the fifth seed and will host Montezuma-Cortez, La Junta and Kent Denver in the Region 4 tournament Saturday.

The Panthers (19-4) will play Montezuma-Cortez at 10 a.m. with La Junta facing Kent Denver at 12:30 p.m. The winners will play at 3 p.m.

Also in 3A, Cedaredge (12-11) plays Jefferson Academy on Saturday at Eaton.

In Class 2A, Hotchkiss (18-1) is the No. 2 seed and plays Fowler at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday in Pueblo. The Bulldogs enter the state tournament on a 16-game winning streak.

In the Class 1A state semifinals, third-seeded Nucla (15-5) will play Otis today at noon at All-Star Park in Lakewood.
