The Colorado High School Activities Association recently announced its all-state baseball teams.

In Class 5A, Grand Junction senior Derek Shaver was an honorable mention selection.

In 4A, Stevie Reynolds, a junior at Palisade, made the honorable mention list.

Montrose junior outfielder Emmert Kastendieck was also an honorable mention pick.

Also making the honorable mention list from the 4A Western Slope League were Rifle junior Derek Wagler and Glenwood Springs senior Tyler Dollahan.

In Class 3A, Gauge Lockhart, a junior at Delta, was a second-team selection after the Panthers' trip to the final eight.

Senior teammates Rowyn Carmichael and Trevor Myers were honorable mention picks.

Cedaredge junior Sean Dale was also an honorable mention selection in 3A.

In 2A, Hotchkiss senior Presley Pene was selected to the first team and senior teammate Jamison Yanish was picked for the second team.

Senior Marvin Guereque was an honorable mention selection for the Bulldogs.

Paonia seniors David Lozano and Soul Connolly were honorable mention picks in 2A.

Even as the state runner-up team in Class 1A, Nucla had the player of the year in senior Will Gabriel.

The left-handed pitcher and infielder has been part of a program that won a state title two years ago and finished second the past two years.

Nucla sophomore Tyler Wytulka was also selected to the first team.

Senior catcher JD Brantingham was a second-team selection, and senior Jace Sinks was an honorable mention pick for the Mustangs.
