These athletes are not nominated for the High School Sports Award, the list of which is released in the spring.
Derek Shaver, Grand Junction High School Baseball
The senior pitched six innings and struck out eight batters in one win and went 2 for 3 with an RBI and scored two runs in another win for the Tigers.
Kenley Kohls, Fruita Monument High School
The junior won the high jump at the Phil Wertman Invitational with a jump of 5-foot-2-inches. That height currently has her in state-qualifying position.
